Step-by-step guideApple only allows PWA installation from Safari. If you're currently in Chrome, tap the ⋮ menu → "Open in Safari", or simply copy the URL and paste it into Safari. Once installed from Safari, the app works independently — you won't need Safari again.
Open your link in Safari
Navigate to your coaching URL (e.g., yourname.coachrift.com) in Safari. Apple requires Safari for app installation — but once installed, it runs as its own standalone app.
Tap the Share button
Tap the Share icon at the bottom of the screen (the square with an arrow pointing up).
Tap "Add to Home Screen"
Scroll down in the share menu until you see "Add to Home Screen". Tap it.
Name your app
You can keep the default name (CoachRift) or customize it. Then tap "Add" in the top-right corner.
Launch from Home Screen
CoachRift now appears as an app icon on your home screen. Tap it to open — it runs fullscreen, just like a native app.
Android
Step-by-step guideOpen in Chrome
Open Chrome and navigate to your coaching URL (e.g., yourname.coachrift.com). Other Chromium browsers (Edge, Brave) also work.
Tap the menu (⋮)
Tap the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner of Chrome.
Tap "Install app" or "Add to Home screen"
You may see "Install app" (preferred) or "Add to Home screen". Either option works. Tap it.
Confirm by tapping "Install"
A confirmation dialog will appear. Tap "Install" to add CoachRift to your home screen and app drawer.
Launch from Home Screen
CoachRift now appears in your app drawer and home screen. It runs as a standalone app with its own window — no browser tabs.
Enable Push Notifications

Look for the notification prompt
When you first open your dashboard, a notification banner will appear at the bottom of the screen after a few seconds. Tap "Enable" to opt in.
Allow in the browser dialog
Your browser will show a system permission dialog asking to allow notifications. Tap "Allow" to complete the setup.
You're all set!
You'll now receive push notifications for new messages, session bookings, and client activity — even when the app is closed.
iOS note: Push notifications on iPhone/iPad require iOS 16.4 or later, and CoachRift must be installed to your home screen first. Notifications won't work from the browser alone.
Troubleshooting
I use Chrome on my iPhone — can I install the app from Chrome?
Unfortunately no. Apple restricts PWA installation to Safari only. Even though Chrome on iOS uses Apple's engine, it doesn't support "Add to Home Screen". The good news: once you install from Safari, the app runs independently — you don't need to keep using Safari.
How do I switch from Chrome to Safari on iOS?
The easiest way: in Chrome, tap the ⋮ menu and look for "Open in Safari". Alternatively, long-press the URL bar, copy the link, open Safari, and paste it there.
I don't see "Add to Home Screen" on iOS
Make sure you're using Safari. This option only appears in Safari's Share menu (the square icon with an up arrow). If you still don't see it, scroll down in the share sheet — it's sometimes below the fold.
I don't see "Install app" on Android
Try reloading the page. The install prompt sometimes takes a moment to appear. Make sure you're using Chrome or another Chromium-based browser (Edge, Brave, Samsung Internet).
Notifications aren't working on iPhone
Push notifications on iOS require: (1) iOS 16.4 or later, (2) CoachRift installed to your home screen via Safari, and (3) notification permission granted within the app. They won't work from the browser alone.
Notifications aren't working on Android
Check your device settings: Settings → Notifications → Chrome (or your browser) → make sure notifications are enabled. Also check the site-specific notification permission in Chrome settings.
The app looks different from the website
That's by design! The installed app runs in fullscreen mode without the browser's address bar, giving you more screen space.
How do I uninstall?
On iOS: long-press the app icon → Remove App. On Android: long-press → Uninstall, or go to Settings → Apps → CoachRift → Uninstall.
